The Department of Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) on Friday announced the launch of two postgraduate programs – M.Tech in AI/ML in Chemical Engineering and M.Tech in Computational Chemical Engineering.
While the AI/ML course trains students to apply advanced algorithms and analytics to problems such as process optimization, materials discovery, and more, the Computational Chemical Engineering course focuses on multi-scale modeling and simulation of complex chemical processes. The curriculum combines chemical engineering with mathematics and computing. Both programs emphasize research, hands-on computer training and interaction with industry, the institute said.
“Innovation in engineering today is increasingly driven by data, computation and intelligent systems. The future of engineering lies at the intersection of domain expertise and digital intelligence. These new courses represent IITH’s vision to train engineers who can harness technology for sustainable industry and society,” said Director BS Murty.
