All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi wrote to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy requesting revision and implementation of the minority declaration before the polls, pointing out that most of the promises made before the elections were not kept.
Mr. Owaisi pointed out that apart from two promises, action on the rest is yet to be initiated.
“Even as the minorities in the state eagerly await the implementation of these promises, the government is virtually silent on the status and timeline for the implementation of these promises,” Mr. Owaisi wrote.
The AIMIM Floor Leader pointed out that the steps to start a sub-plan for minorities have not been initiated. In addition, ₹ 1,000 crore annually for loan subsidy for unemployed youth and women remains outstanding.
Financial assistance in the form of Taufa-e-Taleem for Ph.D., Post Graduate, Graduate, Intermediate and Class X students has also not seen the light of day, he said. He pointed out that an amendment to the Telangana Commission for Minorities Act is also awaited.
Mr. Owaisi said that there was no visible reclamation of waqf land from the hands of invaders and protection of both Muslim and Christian cemeteries, he added.
