Woman killed, son injured after SUV rams scooter in Dundigal

A 49-year-old woman was killed and her 22-year-old son sustained serious injuries after a moving SUV rammed their scooter from behind at Bahadurpally under Dundigal police station limits on Monday (June 29, 2026).

The deceased was identified as Uday Latha Reddy who died on the spot due to the impact of the collision. Her son Vedanth Reddy sustained serious injuries and was taken to a nearby private hospital for treatment. His condition is listed as stable.

The accident was reported around 1 pm when the mother and son were traveling on their scooter from Kompalla to Bahadurpalla. The SUV was traveling in the same direction when it hit the two-wheeler from behind.

According to Dundigal Police Inspector P. Sateesh, the SUV was traveling at high speed at the time of the accident. The driver was taken into custody and is being questioned in connection with the case. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
