HYDERABAD
Senior Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader T. Harish Rao has accused the Congress government of spending huge money on issuing newspaper advertisements to support the Congress party’s campaign for the upcoming Kerala assembly elections.
The ruling party on one hand cried hoarse saying that the state coffers are empty but on the other hand they are spending huge public money from Telangana on Congress party in Kerala elections, he said.
He criticized the ‘waste’ of crores of rupees from Telangana’s public exchequer on advertisements and questioned the morality of spending money on advertisements in newspapers in Kerala. The BRS leader said the ruling party had failed to honor six guarantees and more than 420 other promises, but was giving full-page color advertisements.
The Congress betrayal in Telangana started by deceiving women in the name of Mahalakshmi scheme, under which they were promised financial support of ₹ 2,500 per month. Similarly, 10 grams of gold was forgotten in addition to financial support of over ₹100,000 on marriage and scooters for college going girls.
Mr. Harish Rao alleged that the ruling party had deceived Kerala and claimed that it had made one million women in Telangana ‘crorepatis’. The unemployed youth were promised to issue a job calendar every year to fill 2 million jobs, but in vain.
The government did not have money for the basic needs of school-bound children, but it has enough money for the Prime Minister’s foreign tours and for organizing short-term certification courses. The BRS leader further alleged that the Congress government had stalled the Rytha Bandha/Bharosa and failed to provide increased social security pensions, among many others.
