
Patriarch of Antioch and Head of the General Syriac Orthodox Church Ignatius Aphrem II. met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday.
The meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence discussed various issues, including the church dispute, according to a published report.
Catholicos Baselios Joseph I, Kuriakose Eusebius, Metropolitan of Delhi, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, President of Kerala Unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Sabu M. Jacob, Chief Coordinator of Twenty20. The patriarch appreciated Mr. Modi’s peace efforts at the global level during the meeting, he said.
The statement claimed that the Prime Minister had said that the Union Government wished to resolve the church dispute out of court through consensus.
