
Sara Netanyahu accompanied husband and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to receive Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, where they had a warm exchange. Sara Netanyahu wore a saffron outfit that Benjamin pointed to the Indian Prime Minister.
Sara Netanyahu was born in November 1958 in the northern Israeli city of Tivon, near Haifa, and is the mother of Yair and Avner Netanyahu.
Sara Netanyahu graduated from Greenberg High School in Tivon. As a teenager, she also worked as a correspondent for Ma’ariv Lanoar, a weekly for Israeli teenagers.
From 1977 to 1979, Sara Netanyahu worked as a psychotechnical diagnostician in the intelligence unit of the Israel Defense Forces, where she assessed candidates for courses and special forces within the IDF and other security agencies. In 1979, she completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Tel Aviv University and later went on to work at the rehabilitation unit of Tel Hashomer Hospital. According to an Israeli website, she completed her master’s degree at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She also worked as a flight attendant for El Al Airlines.
In 2018, recalling her time as a flight attendant, Sara said: “I had a very nostalgic morning. I remember my nights as flight attendants when we brought new immigrants to Israel. We left with an empty plane and returned to Israel loaded with families, children and elderly people. I was so excited for the passengers. They didn’t know the language, but they knew they were coming home.”

Sara Netanyahu reportedly met Benjamin while working as a flight attendant.
According to reports, Sara Netanyahu volunteered with “Hand in Hand” and “Step Forward” and supported other organizations helping children with cancer, special needs and shelters for abused women. She continues to volunteer as a child psychologist.
Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Israel
As the Indian prime minister landed in Tel Aviv for a two-day state visit, from February 25 to 26, Benjamin Netanyahu reflected on the close personal relationship between the two leaders.
“My wife Sara and I today welcomed our good friend, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived on another historic visit to Israel. Prime Minister Modi had previously visited Israel in 2017 and I later made a reciprocal visit to India, which was truly extraordinary,” he said.
Benjamin Netanyahu went on to say that the two leaders share a close personal relationship, “they speak often and I believe that the deep friendship between us is powerfully reflected in the ties between our two countries.”
On the first day of his visit, Prime Minister Modi will attend a gala reception at the Knesset and attend an innovation event in Jerusalem. A joint dinner will be held later.
“Tomorrow we will visit Yad Vashem and then hold another meeting with our teams, during which we will sign a number of agreements in the economic, security and diplomatic spheres that further advance cooperation between Israel and India,” Benjamin Netanyahu said.
