The unorganized workers called to collect the smart cards immediately
The Labor Department has urged workers in the unorganized sector to collect their smart cards immediately by visiting the Labor Inspectors offices in Mandya taluk.
The appeal is aimed at various categories of unorganized workers, including loaders, domestic workers, tailors, mechanics, washermen, blacksmiths, potters, barbers, kilns, newspaper carriers, cinematographers, weavers, street vendors, hotel workers, conference center, tent and pandal workers, workers in unorganized delivery services, variously involved gig workers.
The ministry has also urged drivers registered with the Karnataka State Motor Vehicle and Other Allied Welfare Board and workers already registered under the Labor Ministry’s Ambedkar Karmika Sahayahasta scheme to collect their smart cards without delay, a press release said.
Eligible workers have been asked to visit the offices of labor inspectors Circle-01 and Circle-02 in Mandya taluk to get smart cards, the report added.
