Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) district secretary KK Ragesh on Friday (Feb 6) alleged that the publication of a book written by V Kunhikrishnan, who was expelled from the CPI(M) Kannur district committee and its primary member for allegedly misappropriating the martyr fund by the party, was being used as an anti-CPIM(platform)
At the press conference, Mr. Ragesh said that several participants attended the launch of the book under the brand name “Left”, but claimed that the program was essentially directed against the CPI(M).
He criticized Joseph C. Mathew’s speech at the event, saying it resembled that of a “former CPI(M) leader” and said the party did not require his advice.
“Anyone with basic common sense can understand the intent of organizing such a program,” he said.
Mr. Ragesh further alleged that the book published by Mr. Kunhikrishnan was a personal attack on MLA TI Madhusoodanan. He claimed that no funds were diverted and that the party suffered no financial loss. All the figures given in the book were incorrect, he claimed.
