
Two of the accused were in police custody in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
Five people were arrested in separate drug operations across the city, with enforcement teams seizing more than 1.7 kilograms of ganja and motorcycles allegedly used to transport contraband.
In the first operation, officials of the State Task Force – B Team arrested two individuals at IDA Bollaram while they were selling ganja. The raid led to the seizure of 50 packages weighing 887 grams.
Both the accused have been identified as Govind and Durga. Cases have also been registered against two other persons, Raju and Vinny, who are suspected of involvement in the purchase and distribution of contraband. The accused along with the contraband and the motorcycle were later handed over to Patancheru Excise Station for further action.
In a separate incident, two more persons were arrested in Balanagar by the Rangareddy Enforcement team.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohammed Irfan and Mekala Anil Kumar. During the operation, 520 grams of ganja were seized from them. Police said the accused, the seized ganja and the motorcycle they were using were handed over to the Balanagar Excise Station.
In another case, Vishwajit Kavita, a resident of Assam, was arrested by the STF B team while selling ganja in Gachibowli. Officials seized 300 grams of ganja and a motorcycle and handed it over to Serilingampally Excise Station.
