The North East Division of Police on Tuesday called a meeting with jewelery shop owners operating in the jurisdiction of Sampigehalli sub-division and directed them to implement the best practices and security guidelines issued by the city police commissioner.
The goal is to prevent armed robberies and improve the overall safety and security of jewelry facilities.
The police have outlined a set of mandatory security measures that all jewelery shops must follow. These include installing CCTV cameras with adequate coverage and proper recording equipment, installing functional alarm and warning systems, and implementing a multi-layered security framework.
Shop owners have also been instructed to carry out regular inspections and maintenance of their security measures.
Additionally, police emphasized the importance of reporting suspicious persons or activities to the police department.
