President Donald Trump said on Friday that his nominee to be the new chairman of the Federal Reserve, Kevin Warsh, is eager to lower interest rates, a key goal the US leader has long championed.
“He definitely wants to cut rates. I’ve been watching him for a long time,” Trump said at the White House.
But he added that he didn’t want to question Warsh’s commitment to it.
