Trans-Harbour rail service restored after track damage; a total of 24 trains were canceled due to the downpour

Train services on the Trans-Harbour line have resumed this morning after a brief operational hiccup caused by soil erosion under the tracks as a result of the recent downpour in the city. The rains which have been occurring since Tuesday (June 23, 2026) evening have resulted in cancellation of 24 trains and continued speed restriction between Turbhe and Vashi.

In an official update, Central Railway said, “Due to track damage on the Trans Harbor line in Mumbai Local, 24 trains have been canceled so far. Though the service has resumed in the affected section after repair, the speed is restricted as a precaution in the affected section of the trans harbor line between Turbhe and Vash.”

The incident occurred amid heavy rain that lashed Mumbai on Tuesday (June 23, 2026) and Wednesday (June 24, 2026), causing widespread waterlogging in several low-lying areas and leading the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue an orange alert for the region.
