
Labor and Employment Minister G Vivek Venkatswamy said learning more than one skill increases job chances and opportunities for the youth and the government is committed to providing an environment for skill development through various measures.
Skill competitions are a great opportunity for young people and help improve and refine existing skills, he said during the closing ceremony of the India Skills 2025 competitions on Saturday.
The minister said the state government is aiming for a $3 trillion economy in the next few years. If the economy grows, new industries emerge and thus the demand for skilled youth automatically increases. Skilled youth are getting more and more opportunities in this competitive world, he said.
He recalled how the state government is setting up 115 Advanced Technology Centers (ATCs) to provide futuristic training to the youth. Such centers do not exist anywhere else in the country, he said and urged the youth to opt for the courses offered at ATC.
Principal Secretary, Labor and Employment, Dana Kishore said that zonal competitions were held for India Skill 2025 and 240 candidates were selected in 40 categories.
