The district administration has intensified arrangements for the Kharif 2026 season to ensure timely availability of quality seeds and subsidized fertilizers to farmers, District Collector Dr. A. Siri.

She was speaking after distributing Atmanirbhar mission red gram seeds, subsidized groundnut and urea seeds to farmers at Tuggali mandal headquarters.

The Collector said that sufficient stocks of agricultural inputs have been placed to meet the seasonal demand. “Tuggali mandal alone has 244.8 metric tonnes of urea in stock, with distribution being done through the government portal and e-pass machines to ensure transparency and accountability. A bag of urea costs ₹ 1,457, but the government provides a subsidy of ₹ 1,190, which enables farmers to purchase it at ₹ 50,26.26.”

The Collector said that red gram seeds were available under the Atmanirbhar Mission and were being supplied free of cost to farmers who had adopted the catch crop. “We have 1,752 cents of groundnut seeds ready for distribution with 40% subsidy,” the collector said.
