A large number of people paid their last respects to colonial mla kanathil jamiele when her last rice was held at Kunil Kadavu Juma Masjid in Adamu.
Her body was kept at a private hospital in Kozhikode after her death from cancer on November 30. Leaders of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) took possession of the remains by Tuesday morning. They were first taken to CH Kanaran Mandiram, the CPI(M) district committee office in Kozhikode city.

Bindu, Minister for Sports V. Abdurahiman, Minister for Registration and Museums, Kadannaft Democratu Ramach Fronta Kadannaft Demovenu Ramach. convener TP Ramakrishnan, Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala, Shafi Parambil, MP, and senior CPI(M) leaders like KK Shailaja, Elamaram Kareem, EP Jayarajan, PK Sreemathi and CS Sujatha were present among others.
The body was then taken to the Koyilanda Town Hall and a private convention center in Thalakkulathur where people paid their last respects to the late leader. The remains were later taken to her house in Thalakkulathur and in a procession to a mosque in Athol.
