Who was Tay Keith?

Tay Keith was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. During his teenage years, he began sharing his music on YouTube and hip-hop platforms such as DatPiff. At the age of 14, he teamed up with rapper BlocBoy JB and the two began making music together. A few years later, Keith contributed to Black Youngsta’s mixtape, but gained widespread recognition with BlocBoy JB’s 2018 breakout track “Rover.”

Later that year, he produced Never Recover for Lil Baby and Gunna featuring Drake. However, it was Travis Scott’s 2018 hit “Sicko Mode” that definitively established him as one of hip-hop’s premier producers.

Keith received a Grammy nomination in 2019 for his work on “Sicko Mode” and received another nomination in 2024 for Rich Flex by Drake and 21 Savage.

In addition to his collaborations with Drake and Travis Scott, Tay Keith has collaborated with several major artists, including Eminem, Sexy Red, and Lil Baby. He also co-produced BlocBoy JB’s hit ‘Look Alive’ and contributed to ‘Before I Let Go’, a bonus track on BeyoncĂ©’s ‘Homecoming’ live album.
