
The Department of English, Osmania University (OU), in collaboration with the University of Western Australia (UWA), Perth, and the Association for the Study of Australasia in Asia (ASAA), is organizing a three-day international conference entitled ‘Plural Pasts, Shared Futures: Global Literary Interconnections’ from 25 to 27 November.
Bama, a renowned Tamil Dalit writer, will be speaking in plenary with Julie Janson, an Indigenous Australian writer, playwright and poet. The guest speaker will be Harriet White, Vice Consul, Australian Consulate General Bengaluru.
Other speakers at the plenary session include Prof. Tony Hughes-d’Aeth, Chair of Australian Literature, UWA and Dr. Kieran Dolin, Senior Honorary Research Fellow, UWA & President, ASAA (Australia), said conference organizers Professor B. Vijaya and Professor Parimala Kulkarni. They said the theme ‘Plural Pasts, Shared Futures’ invites exploration of the diversity of historical experience and the possibilities of collective imagination and solidarity in shaping a global future for all.
