A man from Pune’s Junnar, frustrated with constant problems in his new Mahindra Thar, staged an unusual protest. He made the donkeys tow the SUV to the dealer’s showroom.
A viral video shows two donkeys pulling a car while people play drums and others push it. The owner, Ganesh Sangde, said the Thar had been struggling from the start. The car was leaking water and had a loud engine.
Despite repeated complaints, the merchant failed to resolve the issues. Sangde then covered the SUV with large posters criticizing the seller in Marathi. Took it to Sahyadri Motors in Wakad and demanded proper handling.
“Anand Mahindra has an opinion on almost everything. I’m sure he will have something to say about it. At least to his team and the buyer,” wrote one.
Another wrote: “Well deserved Mahindra! I have personally experienced how you treat your customers.”
“Mr. Anand Mahindra should take strict action against the showroom and service managers. Their ego cannot be bigger than the reputation of Mahindra. The customer may be irrational but what is service is their management,” wrote another.
One user claimed, “Mahindra is bad in traffic. Been struggling for a month now.”
“For passenger cars Mahindra should be the last resort,” wrote another.
Another wrote: “I wonder what Anand Mahindra has to say. Thar has a loyal fan base.”
“Brand new Thar, old school. When they ignored his complaint, he showed them the hard way – dragged it back with two donkeys. This is what happens when companies take customers for granted,” chimed in another.
“Nothing new. It’s always the donkey driving the Thar,” a Thar user sneered.
One user wrote, “Mahindra cars have been facing a lot of problems since last few months while their team is silent on social media.”
“Bro really said ‘if Mahindra doesn’t pull their weight, my donkeys will’. Customer service just did their thing,” chimed in another.
A recent complaint about Mahindra
A Mahindra owner in Noida claimed in July that he faced a disturbing experience at a service centre. His post appeared on the popular XUV700 owners site.
Owner Suraj Chaudhary first received a ₹26,000 bill, although several services on the list were never performed. He was standing near his vehicle the whole time, so he knew exactly what work was being done. He confronted the employee with the proof and the bill dropped to ₹21,000.
“Now imagine what happens to the customers who use the pick up and drop off service and aren’t around to follow up. How many of them are overpaid for services never done? Absolutely pathetic and disappointing. Mahindra needs to seriously look into this,” the user wrote.
