
A 15-year-old boy allegedly caused a series of accidents on the Vypeen-Munambam road on Saturday by recklessly driving a car, endangering public safety.
An elderly woman was injured when a car hit her in Edavanakadu. The Njarackal police impounded the car in Njarackal after it allegedly hit several vehicles while passing by Edavanakad, Cherayi and Njarackal.
The Njarackal police arrested the boy’s father over the incident and impounded the vehicle.
CCTV images showed the boy struggling to control the vehicle, posing a risk to other motorists and pedestrians. There were reportedly three minors on board the car.
The boy’s father, a 55-year-old resident of Kaloor, has been charged under sections 281 (rash or negligent driving) and 125 (rash or negligent conduct endangering human life or personal safety) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act, as well as various sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
