NEET security measures reviewed, special emphasis on exam integrity

Union Home Minister Govind Mohan on Monday (June 15, 2026) reviewed the preparedness of state governments for the upcoming re-examination of the National Eligibility Test-Undergraduate NEET (UG) 2026 with special focus on student convenience, security measures and integrity of the examination process, the Union Home Ministry said.
The entrance medical examination is scheduled for June 21.
Chairman, Railway Board; Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy; Secretary of the Department of Higher Education; Secretary, Post Office Department; Director Generals of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Civil Aviation Security Authority and DG, National Testing Agency and senior officers of Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Health and Welfare were also present in the meeting.
Mr. Mohan directed all state governments and central agencies to ensure that safety protocols are strictly followed and the exam is conducted in a flawless manner. States have been asked to facilitate smooth travel of students. The railway board chairman has ensured full cooperation, the ministry said.
Earlier, the government decided to transport question papers in Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft. The IAF will transport the question papers to 18 locations across the country.
CRPF and CISF personnel have been deployed to ensure the safety of the exam papers while they are being taken to the exam centres, a government official said.
According to an internal communication sent by the CRPF headquarters in Delhi on June 12, CRPF units across the country have been asked to “deploy personnel and nominate nodal officers for security arrangements for the transportation of NEET-2026 confidential investigation material”.
In another communication, all commanders were asked to ensure that personnel assigned to this task had a clean record and were not subject to any disciplinary or other investigation. “Their ward, family members and relatives should not appear for the NEET examination,” the release added.
The NEET-UG 2026 examination, which was initially held on May 3, was canceled nationwide on May 12 following allegations of a paper leak. The case is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
