The Kerala High Court has relaxed two conditions it had imposed while granting anticipatory bail to Malayalam rapper Hirandasi Murali alias Vedan in a sexual assault case.
Justice C. Pratheep Kumar commuted a condition requiring him to stay in Kerala and another requiring him to appear before an investigating officer every Sunday. However, he must inform the investigating officer of his plans to go abroad.
Vedan approached the Supreme Court seeking modification of the bail conditions, citing theater performances to be held in several foreign countries in December. He claimed that such appearances were his only source of livelihood and that the change in terms would not affect the probe.
