
The Women and Child Security Wing in Cyberabad reported a week of intensive operations and awareness initiatives from October 18 to 25.
The Cyberabad Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) conducted night raids and arrested 10 sex workers and one transgender. In the same event, one victim of human trafficking was rescued and four accused were taken into custody in connection with a PITA (immoral traffic act) case.
Cyberabad SHE Teams conducted 135 sting operations during the week and arrested 55 people indulging in indecent behavior in public places. Minor cases were registered in 51 cases, the remaining offenders were consulted. The SHE teams also received 25 complaints from women through various channels.
As part of the operation, 72 awareness programs were conducted at various locations and five counseling sessions at the Women and Child Safety Wing in Cyberabad. In addition, efforts were made to reunify 26 families experiencing matrimonial disputes through family counseling centers and CDEW centres.
The wing also conducted awareness programs at various locations in Cyberabad with around 130 participants. The session covered Human Trafficking, Child Trafficking, Eve Teasing, Social Media Harassment, Child Marriage, Child Rights, Child Labour, Stalking, Begging, Cyber Bullying, Cyber Scams and the importance of emergency lines like Women Helpline 181, Child Helpline 1098, Dial 1930s and Crimes.
