The persistent rainstorm on Sunday left Bengaluru crawling as several stretches were inundated, causing traffic jams at many places and junctions. Several areas also witnessed power outages for several hours.

The rains have once again exposed the infrastructural deficiencies of the city, with major stretches like Ballari Road, ITPL Road and Varthur Road witnessing flooding at many places.

A senior police officer from the North division said that although there were fewer vehicles on the roads due to rains, traffic jams persisted due to flooding. On Saturday, the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) deployed several workers in East Bengaluru to clear the drains, yet the flooding recurred on Sunday.

Other places that witnessed flooding included Devasandra Junction towards Hosakote, Windsor Manor, Anandapura Junction towards TC Palya, Lulu Mall Road towards Majestic, Peenya Flyover towards Tumakuru Road and Turabarahalli Road towards Siddapur.
