Revanth orders irrigation engineers to stay away from projects and warns of action against absentees without notice

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials of the Irrigation Department to take steps for efficient maintenance of major and minor projects in view of the onset of monsoon.
He ordered the irrigation engineers concerned to stay near the projects and not leave the project sites without permission from higher authorities. He directed the Irrigation Minister to take action against engineers who leave the project sites without prior notice. At the same time, he ordered the finance department to immediately release the necessary funds for the repair of project gates and other maintenance work.
Agriculture department officials have been directed to be fully prepared for the monsoon and focus on seed and fertilizer distribution. Fertilizers should be supplied through Rythu Vedikas and the concerned Agriculture Officer should be responsible for maintaining the stock and ensuring distribution among the farmers with the help of Revenue Department officials. Farmers should be educated about seed varieties for fine rice to be prepared for farmers who choose to grow paddy rice.
Officials have been urged to take steps to ensure that there is no scope for contamination of drinking water. Water officials have been directed to test the quality of water from time to time, while the health department should be ready to provide medical facilities if required. The department should also store the necessary amount of medicines keeping in mind the possibility of spreading seasonal diseases and sanitation staff should ensure that there is no unsanitary atmosphere.
