The application concerns another fee received by the dot for the 2016-17 financial year. VI claimed that its AGR commitments were convincingly determined and cannot be reopened or increased. The company tried to cancel new demand and called for a comprehensive reconciliation of its fees up to FY 2016-17.

In his May, the court described as “incorrectly interested”.

The main judge had previously emphasized the need for closure to the extended AGR dispute. “However, there must be some finality for this proceedings,” he noted that he has been referring to a number of decisions issued by the court since 2019.
According to industry estimates, the total AGR VI obligations are approximately 83,400 GBP, while the annual payments of 18,000 GBP Crore begin this March. Including sanctions and accumulated interest, its total obligations are estimated at almost 2 trillion ₹. The company claimed that its current cash flows are not sufficient to fulfill these payment obligations.
