The District unit of Kalaburagi in the Indian Communist Party (Marxist) submitted a memorandum to the main minister Siddaramaiaha during his visit to Kalaburagagu for an air survey of flood districts.
In its petition, CPI called on the State Government to perform a scientific assessment of the damage to the flood and the loss of crops and to ensure increased compensation to farmers and families affected by the flood and pointed out that the losses of crops and property exceeded last year.
The party demanded that compensation for crop loss should be set at 50,000 GBP per acre, against the current standard of 8,500 GBP within the NDRF. She was also looking for help at 25,000 GBP for craftsmen and agricultural communities such as blacksmiths, potters and agricultural workers who lost tools, equipment and production materials during the flood.
Other key requirements included the construction of new houses for families whose houses collapsed and provided a compensation of 25,000 GBP for households that have lost things such as food, clothing and dishes.
The party also pushed a year -round free delivery of basic commodities through a public distribution system, covering food groups, pulses, oil, sugar, salts, soaps and hygienic inserts for women.
It required surrender to agriculture and banks, immediate check -in wages of MGNGAGA and providing 200 days of guaranteed employment with basic facilities at workplaces.
CPI (m) demanded the rebuilding of damaged Anganwadi centers and school buildings, free distribution of textbooks, laptops and school kits, comprehensive health checks with free drugs for all displaced people and improved facilities in camps with an emphasis on nutritional food and safe drinking.
He was looking for the initiation of the urban employment guarantee system to support workers who have lost their living due to long -term deductions and floods.
The party criticized what it described as the “minimum approach” of the state government only the opening relief center, and said it was grossly inadequate in the face of widespread devastation.
The District Secretary of CPI (M) K. Neel, who submitted a memorandum, said that the state government must recognize the scope of destruction in Kalyan Karnatak and act quickly to protect farmers, agricultural workers, craftsmen and daily wage workers.
