
In 2023, Telangana contributed 2.9% of total crimes in India, according to the latest data on the National Crime Records (NCRB) recorded 1,83,644 cases. This means the rise of 1,65,830 cases in 2022.
NCRB has released its latest report on 30 September.
According to the report, Telangana ranked eighth among the Indian states in terms of total reported cases. At the level of the city, Hyderabad represented 25,749 cases in 2023, which represented 2.7% of crimes reported in 19 main metropolitan cities.
