On Monday (September 22), Russia and Ukraine exchanged the charges for deadly drones focused on civilian areas because Ukrainian President Volodymyr was prepared for the “very intense week” of diplomacy at the UN General Assembly in New York, where the Security Council was prepared more than three years.
“The schedule already includes nearly twenty meetings with leaders from different countries, from all parts of the world,” Zelsky said on a telegram.
He added that he was planning to meet US President Donald Trump during the week to pushed the peace agenda.
He offered a ceasefire and summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, although Moscow expressed reservations about some proposals.
Green: “Without Power of Peace
The Ukrainian leader emphasized the need for global determination against Russian aggression: “It is necessary for this week to strengthen the world’s determination for robust action – because peace does not exceed peace.”
He said that Russian forces have launched more than 1,500 striking drones, 1,280 gliding bombs and 50 missiles of different types in Ukraine over the last week.
“More than 132,000 foreign units were found in these weapons of dozens of countries,” Zlenskyy said.
Ukraine continues to seek stronger sanctions against Russia to limit their military operations.
European concerns of Russian provocations
The tension has increased internationally because it seems that Russian attacks are threatened by neighboring countries. Russian drones allegedly landed on Polish soil and Russian fighter aircraft entered the Estonian airspace, which led to the UN Security Council.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna described the intrusion as “dangerous escalation” and added that “Russia’s dangerous behavior cannot be tolerated”.
Russia has denied any airspace violation. UN Ambassador’s representative Dmitry Polyanskiy rejected this criticism as an effort to “accuse Russia for everything”.
Latvian President Edgars warned Rinevics that Russia is testing NATO reaction and trying to redirect Western sources from Ukraine.
Russian strikes to Ukrainian civilians
At least seven Russian aircraft bombed the southern city of Zeporizzhia overnight, killed three and injured two, according to the head of the regional administration Ivan Fedorov.
“None of the places had anything to do with military infrastructure,” Fedorov said. The attack focused on residential buildings, shopping centers, parking and critical infrastructure.
The Ukrainian Air Force captured 132 out of 141 strikes and bait drones started overnight.
Ukraine will strike Russian territories
Ukraine’s attacks were also caused by victims in Russia. According to Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov in Belgorod, three were killed and 10 injured. In the Crimea Sergei Aksyonov, he said that three died and 16 were injured at the Ukrainian drones.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said there were no military targets affected in places and said that 114 Ukrainian drones were reduced on Monday over several regions.
