
A rapid special court in Medchal-Malkajgiri sentenced a 33-year-old man to a life imprisonment for rape and visiting the suicide of a smaller girl in Dundigal in 2018.
The defendant, Kumar Kumar from Indiramma Colony, Bowramp, was convicted according to Section 376 (3) of IPC and Section 3 (a). A) Reading with 4 POCSO law from 2012, for which he received strict imprisonment in his life together with a fine of 50,000 GBP. He was also sentenced to 10 years of strict imprisonment and fined 20,000 GBP according to section 306 IPC. The Court ordered the fine to be paid as a compensation for the victim’s mother.
According to the police on June 9, 2018, the victim’s mother found out that her younger daughter was stuck from the ceiling fan. A case of a suspicious death was registered at the Dundigal police station.
During the investigation, Shiva Kumar was detained and admitted that he lured the victim under the pretext of love and attacked her sexually. When she later experienced the bleeding and reached out, he threatened her not to call again. Desperate took her own life.
After his acknowledgment, the case was changed to include rape accusations according to the IPC and POOSO law, as well as to participate in suicide. After a detailed investigation, the accusation was filed and the court initiated.
Mrs. N. Amaravathi, a judge of a special court for rapid court proceedings and the liquidation of rape cases and POŠO, Medchal-Malkajgiri declared a punishment.
