
In the main step towards the transformation of Kerala’s university environment, the Kerala Institute for the Local Administration (pounds) of a strategic partnership with the United Nations research shoulder (UN) based in Brussels entered the Brussels. Both institutions on Saturday signed a letter about the plan (LOI) to increase cooperation in research, support policy, building capacities and experiential learning for local administration.
According to LOI, cooperation will include joint research projects, policy formulation, educational programs, students’ exchange, joint publications and knowledge sharing initiatives. The aim of the partnership is to allow top studies in the development of cities, decentralized administration and sustainable development goals (SDG), and at the same time equip officials at world level of training and promote innovative political frameworks.
The initiative is expected to significantly strengthen the effectiveness and quality of local governments in Kerala by bringing global expertise and proven procedures to the state. Officials said that cooperation could open international opportunities for education and research for students in the new era for higher education in Kerala.
Loi was signed by the director of UNU-CRIS Philippe de Lombarde and the CEO of Kila A. Nizamudeen. The ceremony of the signature, which took place during the urban conclave of Keral in the presence of Minister MB Rajesh, saw the representative of Una Nandit Mathews to hand over the agreement. Cooperation will be formally launched as soon as they receive permission from the Union Government.
