Party for PM Modi, ‘Longest serving Prime Minister’ munches jhalmuri at Bharat Mandapam: VIDEO | Today’s news

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who became India’s longest-serving consecutive Prime Minister, shared a Jhalmuri with other National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders at a meeting held on Wednesday, June 10, to congratulate him on achieving the milestone.

By completing 4,399 days in office, PM Modi has officially surpassed the previous record held by the country’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.

A gathering of NDA leaders warmly congratulated him on becoming the longest continuously serving Prime Minister of India.

Hours after the meeting, PM Modi took to social media to share a video of himself munching on West Bengal’s iconic snack, jhalmuri, served to him by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari.

The meeting was held at the Bharat Mandapam in Delhi on Wednesday.

“Break at Jhalmuri during NDA meeting at Bharat Mandapam. All our leaders enjoyed the refreshment very much,” PM Modi wrote on X, sharing pictures from the venue.

Jhalmuri, the snack itself, made headlines during the 2026 West Bengal elections after Prime Minister Modi stopped by a jhalmuri stall in Jhargram town to grab a bite while striking a chord with Bengalis.

After Prime Minister Modi’s visit, the small roadside stall became the center of public attention in the city and jhalmuri’s popularity increased manifold across the country.

The BJP swept the Junglemahal region, which includes Jhargram, in the recently concluded elections to form the state government after defeating Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress (TMC).
