The New York City 9/11 family (September 9) criticized the nominee Democratic Mayor Zohran Mamdani for his connection with Hasan Piker, who once not inadvertently said “America deserves” attacks from 11 September.
“How can you hang with someone who said,” America deserved 9/11 “that’s shameful,” said Wendi Turturica, who became EMT after attacks, The New York Post. “Mamdani does not deserve to be mayor. I invite (Ho) to turn away from Hasan Piker and his hateful words.”
EMT is a trained medical expert who provides emergency medical services – often the first respondent in situations such as accidents, disasters or medical emergencies.
EMT couple supports Cuomo
Wendi’s husband, Sal Turturici, 60, retired FDNY EMT, who recovered the remains of Ground Zero and now suffers from neuroendocrine cancer in the stage, repeated his anger.
“I don’t like Mamdani,” he said honestly.
The couple formally approved Mamdani’s opponent, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, in the November elections. Their approval came during a joint press conference with Cuomo, which was held only two days before the 24th anniversary of 9/11, which killed 2,977 people.
Cuomo’s record with survivors from 9/11
Turturicis said that their support Cuomo was rooted in his record as a governor. They remembered his role in the approval of legislation, which provided the benefits and pensions of disabilities for the survivor of 11 September.
They also appeared with him in 2017 at the ceremonial ceremony for the first respondents, and Sal Turticica was running motorcycles next to Cuomo to honor those who served during the attacks and after the attacks.
“I know first hand, what is the leader Andrew Cuomo,” Wendi said. “As a governor, he fought to secure the benefits for the 11th September and treated our community with the respect and dignity we deserve. This is the kind of leadership that New York City needs again.”
