Rains lash Delhi NCR, IMD issues red, orange alerts: Full Weather Forecast | Today’s news
Light rains and dusty winds lashed parts of Delhi on Tuesday evening after temperatures soared to 43.5 degrees Celsius during the day. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier issued red and orange alerts in the country’s capital, predicting light rains and severe thunderstorms on Tuesday.

According to the district-wise “alert warnings”, the Delhi Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in South West Delhi, West Delhi, New Delhi, South Delhi and South East Delhi. Meanwhile, an orange alert has been issued in North West Delhi, North Delhi, Central Delhi, North East Delhi and East Delhi.
Earlier, the Meteorological Department had issued a yellow warning and predicted: “Generally cloudy skies. A spell of very light rain/light rain accompanied by thunderstorm/lightning and strong winds reaching 40-50 km/h gusting to 60 km/h in the evening/night.”
Not only in Delhi, rain warnings have also been issued in some parts of NCR. Around 5:30 pm on Tuesday, the IMD said, “Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by moderate thunder and lightning (gusty wind 50-90 kmph) over Delhi and NCR.”
It has also predicted hail/thunderstorm with moderate rainfall and lightning (50-90 kmph gusty winds) over parts of Meham, Rohtak (Haryana) Nandgaon, Barsana (UP) Deeg (Rajasthan).
The IMD also said that light to moderate rainfall accompanied by moderate thunder and lightning is very likely to occur during the next 2 hours at Kaithal, Narwana, Fatehabad, Rajaund, Assandh, Safidon, Barwala, Jind, Panipat, Adampur, Hissar, Gohana, Gannaur, Hansi, Siwani, Khairkhoda, Sonidri Mattanhail, Jha, Fajjarnagar, Kosali, Mahendargarh, Sohana, Rewari, Palwal, Bawal, Nuh, Aurangabad, Hodal (Haryana) Baraut, Bagpat, Khekra, Khurja, Gabhana, Jattari, Khair, Aligarh, Iglas, Sikandra Rao, Jayar Sada, Hagra, Thanda Raya, Hagra Modinagar, Pilakhua, Hapur, Gulaoti, Siyana, Sikandrabad, Bulandshahar, Shikarpur, Pahasu (UP) Bhiwari, Tizara, Khairthal, Nagar, Bharatpur (Rajasthan).
