Osmania University receives $110,000 donation for engineering department. from a former student

Osmania University received a combined donation of US$ 110,000 from alumnus Tella Gopal Rao through Tella Sakamoto Foundation, USA.

Of the total, $100,000 was allocated to the Mining Engineering Department and $10,000 to the Electrical Engineering Department. The funding will support facilities for digital mining technologies, research, mining security, mining methods and applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning. The contribution will also support construction work in the Electrical Engineering department.

Mr. Gopal Rao belongs to the class of 1960 in the Department of Mining Engineering at the University College of Engineering (UCE).

Funds were channeled through the UCEOU alumni association. Vice-Chancellor Kumar Molugaram handed over the financial allocation to the Telangana State Education & Welfare Infrastructure Development Corporation at a brief ceremony on Monday.
