On Sunday, the police arrested a 26 -year -old man and confiscated 75 g MDMA, a psychotropic drug.
The accused was identified as Akhil Sasidharan of Puntthalathazham in Kollam. Officials said he had bought a medicine, worth around 5 lakhs, from outside Kerala and brought it here for sale during Onam.
He was charged in a joint operation carried out by district anti-nararkotics Special action forces and Kollam West Police. This is the third time when he was caught with MDMA.
