Hillary Clinton, a former American First Lady, said she was nominated by Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize if he could mediate an agreement between Russia and Ukraine to stop the war that bothers nations for three and a half years.
Clinton, who unsuccessfully challenged the presidential election in 2016 against Trump, made notes while talking about Fox News Podcast Jessica Tarlov.
When he talked about a podcast, the former US Secretary of State said it would be willing to nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize if he had concluded a peace agreement for Russia and Ukraine without having to endanger the Ukrainian country.
“Frankly, if he could end this terrible war … If he could end it without going to a position where he had to admit his territory to the aggressor … He could really stand up to Putin, something we didn’t see, but maybe it was an opportunity,” Hillary Clinton said, New York Post.
She also stated that the Trump-Tump meeting in Alaska could also give the US President a chance for his Russian counterpart to clarify that “there must be a ceasefire, there will be no exchanging territory between Russia and Ukraine.”
“If he were an architect Trump as an architect, I would nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize. Because my goal is not to allow Putin surrender to Putin,” Clinton said.
Trump-Putin Talks
Donald Trump headed for Alaska on Friday for what he called the “High Stakes” summit with Russian Vladimir Putin to discuss an agreement for a ceasefire for Ukraine to help end the deadliest war in Europe since World War II.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zlensky, who was not invited to interviews, and his European allies fear that Trump could sell Ukraine essentially by freezing conflict and recognition – though only informally – Russian control over one fifth of Ukraine.
Trump tried to alleviate the concerns that he joined Air Force One and said he had let Ukraine decide on possible territorial swaps. “I’m not here to negotiate to Ukraine, I’m here to get them at the table,” he said.
When he talked to reporters, he also threatened economic sanctions against Russia, unless any peace agreements were reached and also ruled out the possibility of business trades.
