India Names Full Squad For Asian Games: Bumrah, Sooryavanshi Named In Squad

The Indian Cricket Board has named the full squad for the 2026 Asian Games to be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Shreyas Iyer leads the Indian team which has Jasprit Bumrah and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi among others.

The big decisions were taken at the selection meeting held in Mumbai where BCCI dropped T20 World Cup captain Suryakumar Yadav from the Indian squad. Shreyas was promoted to the T20I captaincy after three strong seasons in the Indian Premier League. Iyer, who reached the IPL finals in 2024 and 2025, was rewarded with the captaincy of the Indian team. Meanwhile, Tilak Varma was also promoted to the position of vice-captain.
