
Mercedes Chandler, a user of Instagram, recently shared a video from the inside of Walmart in the United States and claimed that President Donald Trump’s tariffs, which came into force on August 1, 2025, directly cause prices to increase clothing and other items.
In a video that has now become a viral, Chandler goes through Walmart and shows price tags on clothes and other items with original, lower prices removed or covered and new, higher prices.

“Guys, tariffs have an active effect,” says Chandler. “Look at these clothes in Walmart. All brands have these bottoms torn, but then you will find one with the bottom still on – $ 10.98. The price will increase to $ 11.98.” They said.

The latest Trump tariffs
After Donald Trump took over the Office in the White House, he re -introduced tariffs to a wide range of imports and claimed that these tariffs would improve foreign goods more expensive, giving US manufacturers a competitive advantage.
Over the past few weeks, Trump has imposed another 25 % tariff on all Indian goods, increasing a total of 50 percent. China also faces 30 % of the tariff, although it is relatively lower than India.
