Ghislaine Maxwell, a former girlfriend and convicted accomplisier, Jeffrey Epstein, has been renovated by the renewed pressure of the US Ministry of Justice (DO).
Maxwell’s legal team urged the court to reject the government’s proposal to release transcripts and emphasize that the public interest itself does not justify the violation of the secrecy of a large jury in an active criminal case.
“Whatever interest in Epstein, this interest can not justify a wide intrusion into the secrecy of a large jury if the defendant lives, her legal possibilities are viable and her rights to the proper process persist,” Maxwell lawyers David O. Markus and Melissa Madrigal say.
The Ministry of Justice under Trump’s administration was asked by two federal judges in New York to allow the release of transcripts related to large juries accused of both Epstein and Maxwell. Officials stated that this step was triggered by increased public demand for transparency in the case of high -ranking sexual trading.
