75 vehicles seized in Bengaluru during last IPL night raid

The Bengaluru North Division police impounded 75 vehicles during a special enforcement drive on the night of the IPL final on May 31, targeting drivers performing stunts on the road, traffic violators and suspicious vehicles in the limits of 13 police stations.

The operation was launched as part of enhanced security measures for a high-profile cricket match. Senior police officers and personnel have been deployed on patrol duty while checkpoints (naka points) have been set up at strategic locations to monitor vehicular movement and maintain public order.

During the drive, police officers checked vehicles for wheelies, triple driving and other traffic violations. A total of 75 vehicles were seized, including 71 two-wheelers, three autorickshaws and one passenger car. Officials said that legal action will be initiated against riders and riders as per law.

The special operation was conducted under the leadership of Bengaluru City Police Commissioner. It was led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, North Division, with the participation of three Deputy Commissioners of Police, inspectors from 13 police stations and other police personnel.

Police said the crackdown was aimed at ensuring public safety and preventing reckless driving and other illegal activities during the IPL final celebrations.
