
A total of 35,818 students have registered to appear for the second PUC exams starting on Saturday across the district.
Out of the total number of candidates, 32,835 are freshers, 2,194 repeat students, 773 private candidates and 16 students who want to improve their scores.
The exams will be held at 51 centers in the district, including 28 in Mysuru city itself. The remaining centers are located in HD Kote taluk (3), Periyapatna (4), T. Narasipura (4), KR Nagar (3), Nanjangud (5) and Hunsur (4), officials said.
The district administration has introduced elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the examinations. Officials have been directed to ensure that all basic infrastructure and necessary facilities are in each centre.
At a recent preparatory meeting, another deputy commissioner, Dr. P. Shivaraju instructed the officials to create a student-friendly atmosphere in the examination centers. He emphasized that there should be no confusion or inconvenience during the examinations, which will last until March 17.
