India Post on Tuesday launched three premium express delivery services — 24 Speed Post, 24 Speed Post Parcel and 48 Speed Post to improve time-bound logistics in major cities.
The services will initially be available at select post offices in six metro cities of New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The service was inaugurated in New Delhi by Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia and Minister of State for Communications Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani and others.
Premium services are designed to meet global standards and guarantee next-day (D+1) and two-day (D+2) delivery, supported by priority air transport, extended delivery time up to 8pm and Sunday and most public holiday operations. Digital features such as OTP-based delivery, real-time tracking and SMS alerts further enhance reliability.
While the launch was in New Delhi, a live demonstration of the reservation was conducted at the Hyderabad GPO. Officials highlighted improved infrastructure and a customer-friendly compensation policy that provides refunds for delays, a major step in India Post’s service modernization.
Postmaster General Veena Kumari Dermal, Postmaster General (Hyderabad Region) Sumitha Ayodhya, Postmaster General (Headquarters Region) NR Visalatchy were present during the launch.
