
Up to 105 patients, all of the weaker parts of society, have received a new rental of life thanks to the angioplastic seminars performed by the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences of Sri Jayadev Sri Jayadev in Bengalur and Mysur.
The procedures were carried out in cooperation with the Govindraju Subramai Heart Foundation and Medtronic vascular division, Santa Rosa, USA angioplasty and stent procedures were performed for three days from 15 to 17 September.
Most patients were poor farmers, daily wage workers, auto-ricksha, sellers of sidewalks, clothing workers and financially limiting seniors from all over Karnataka, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Bihar. In one patient requiring more than one stent, patients were without 120 stents without cost.
Director Jayadeva B. Dinesh said that infarction -related diseases are constantly growing among poor people, in rural areas and occur at a younger age. Of the 105 patients were 25% under 50 and 28% were women. The youngest patient was a 28 -year -old man in private service and the oldest 77 -year -old man.
“While 60% of recipients were diabetics, 54% suffered hypertension. Almost 33% are smokers and more than 35% have high cholesterol.
