A total of 1,374 children were rescued from various forms of abuse, including children’s work, begging and illegal employment by Commissioner Cyberabad from 1 to 31.
Eleven devoted teams, each consisting of one sub-inspector, three police constables, and one constable woman, were deployed across divisions. These teams, supported by a unit for trading people (AHTU), carried out inspections in industrial, shops and business facilities, in addition to special drives aimed at begging children. The rescued children were documented and uploaded to the DARPAN application for official records.
Of the rescued rescued were 1,328 boys and 46 girls. Among them, 914 were identified as problems from outside the state, of which 888 boys and 26 girls, while 460 were local, according to information shared during a convergence meeting held on July 2. Most children, a total of 1,367, were found in poor conditions. Others were rescued from orphanages or were found begging.
The police ensured that 1,321 children were gathered with their families, while 53 were sent to shelters for further care and protection.
Legal steps were taken with 316 cases registered according to various parts of the Indian Criminal Code and Juvenile Justice Act, including sections 75 and 79, section 14 of the child’s work (prohibition and regulation) of Act 2016 and sections 17 and 18 of the Custody Act. In addition, photographs of children in 264 missing cases have been uploaded to the Darpan application that helped to identify and track them.
