₹ 50 million Anvil Master Plan for Cherooppa Health Center in Kozhikode
Health Minister K. Muraleedharan said the Cherooppa sub-centre of the Government Medical College Hospital (MCH), Kozhikode, would be upgraded into a modern community health centre. A ₹50 crore master plan for comprehensive development of the facility will be ready soon, he said after visiting the center on Saturday.
Mr. Muraleedharan’s visit followed a recent address by MA Razak, MLA Kunnamangalam to the Assembly. The minister said that corporate social responsibility funds will be used to develop the health center. The work should be completed within three years. Once enough buildings are ready, the government will take up further development work, he added.
Meanwhile, Mr. Razak said the upgrading of the health center will help patients from at least 14 grama panchayats in Kozhikode and Malappuram districts. It would also reduce the pressure on Kozhikode MCH, he added. MK Raghavan, Kozhikode MP and medical college officials were present among others.
