A gig workers association protesting Swiggy and Zomato’s 10-minute delivery model has hit out at Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal, who had earlier claimed that delivery partners earn around ₹26 thousand per month.
In a post on X Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Association claimed that the net profit fell to ₹81 per hour, translation to a ₹Salary 21,000 per month.
“Mr @deepigoyal @zomato claims ₹102/hour EPH (2025). But at 10 h/day × 26 days, gross ≈ ₹26,500. After fuel and maintenance (~20%) the net is ~ ₹21,000 per month – for 260 hours of work. That’s ~ ₹81/hour net, no social security, no paid vacation, no accident insurance,” the union said.
“Hints? Just.” ₹2.6/hour and only ~5% of orders get tipped. This is not a decent job,” he added.
