New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s mother, Mira Nair, is in the spotlight as her name appears in newly released US Justice Department records from its investigative files on Jeffrey Epstein. Renewal. The latest records, released on Friday, indicate that the Epstein files have been revealed again and that the film director attended a posh after-party at the home of convicted sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell.
An Oct. 21, 2009, email from columnist Peggy Siegal to Epstein said, “I just left the Ghislaine townhouse … after a movie party.” Apart from Mira Nair, the latest tranche of documents included the names of former US President Bill Clinton, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Simca CEO Jean Pigozzi and US First Lady Melania Trump, among others.
An early morning message sent around 6:30 added: “Bill Clinton and Jeff Bezos were there…Jean Pigozzi, director MIra Nair…etc. The film got a tepid response, though women like it much more…Hillary Swank and (Richard) Gere at a silly party in the cheap sportswear department of Bloomingdales…very weird,” the email continued.
The email was part of the latest document dump released by the DoJ, which contained more than three million pages of documents — 2,000 videos and 1,80,000 images.
It added: “The studio went to a month of free partying in store and windows… Will be on Wall Street 2 tomorrow …. more to come. xoxo Peg.”
In particular, Ghislaine Maxwell, now jailed for sex trafficking, is currently serving a 20-year sentence in connection with the late financier, convicted sex offender and pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Newly released documents underscore what the government knew about the millionaire financier’s sexual abuse of young girls.
According to newly released documents on the ministry’s website, the democratic socialist’s mother visited Ghislaine Maxwell’s home for her 2009 biopic “Amelia.” Several other influential, rich and powerful people like US President Donald Trump also attended the event.
Hilary Swank’s film stars Richard Gere as the heroine’s husband. The files were withheld when they were first released in December and were finally released on January 30 under the Epstein Files Transparency Act. The latest batch includes correspondence with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Britain’s Prince Andrew, and some of Epstein’s other friends.
