The candidate for the mayor of New York City Zohran Mamdani said on Thursday a fire conference that his administration would be the “worst nightmare of Donald Trump”, in the middle reports that the former president may consider involvement in the city’s concern race.
“You don’t have to take me to my word or take Andrew Cuomo to him,” Mamdani said. “You only have to look at Trump’s administration events because I won a democratic primary.”
He accused Trump of trying “democratic nominated from New York” and said the White House considered suggestions that he would deport or arrest him.
“These are the actions of the President who is afraid of the fact that I will actually deliver in a way where he simply betrayed,” Mamdani said.
Opposition to Trump’s agenda
Mamdani, a democratic socialist and the recent democratic primary winner, explained his firm opposition to Trump’s politicians.
“My approach to Washington will not be reflexive; it is the one that will be in opposition to Donald Trump’s administration when it comes to New Yorkers when it comes to the detriment of people I try to serve,” he said.
He pointed to Trump’s unfulfilled promises as evidence of disconnection. “If the president wants … really act by cheaper food … that’s another conversation,” Mamdani added.
Message for Trump: “The same thing I tell you now”
When he asked what he would say if Trump called him directly, Mamdani replied, “I’ll tell Donald Trump the same thing I’m telling you now.”
The White House denies Trump’s connection
In the middle back and back, the White House refused to claim that Trump intended to intervene in the race.
“As President Trump has repeatedly stated, he does not intend to participate or make approval in the Mayor’s race in New York,” said the White House’s press secretary Karoline Leavitt Fox News Digital.
