Zimbabwe’s Tavengwa Mukuhlani will replace Singapore’s Khwaja as the new ICC vice-chairman

Tavengwa Mukuhlani of Zimbabwe was appointed as the new ICC vice-chairman on Thursday until November 2027 after the board gave the green light to his appointment to replace Singapore’s Imran Khwaja.Mukuhlani currently serves on the ICC’s Finance and Commercial Affairs (F&CA) Committee and the Nomination Committee and chairs the Human Resources and Remuneration Committee, an ICC report said on Thursday.Mukuhlani, who is the chairman of Zimbabwe Cricket and represents it on the ICC board, succeeds Khwaja after his departure from the board.The appointment comes at a significant time for African cricket as Zimbabwe prepares to co-host the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup alongside South Africa and Namibia.ICC Chairman Jay Shah said: “My hearty congratulations to Tavengwa Mukuhlani on his appointment as ICC Vice-Chairman. His cricket administration experience, understanding of the global game and commitment to its development will be invaluable to the ICC Board of Directors.”
