Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh Live Scores, 1st ODI
Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh Live Score, 1st ODI: Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz won the toss and opted to field against Zimbabwe in the first ODI of the series at the Harare Sports Club in Harare on Sunday.
Miraz said the team wanted to make the most of the early moisture on the field and hoped the top batsmen would build a partnership later in the chase.
“We want to bowl first. There’s a bit of moisture and we want to take advantage of that. Yes, I think we (need) to build a partnership, batsmen in the top order. I think it’s a great opportunity for any batsman. I think the wickets look good. If we play well, it will definitely be better. (When asked about the previous four series) I think it’s been a great moment and the last four series we’ve done for us, great. the confidence is there but it’s still new ground, new conditions, so we have to play positively.”
Zimbabwe captain Richard Ngarava said his team is ready for the challenge despite the switch from Test cricket to the 50-over format.
“Not really. I feel the squad is ready and all the batsmen are quite ready to take on whatever comes our way. Well, obviously you have to make a few adjustments coming into an ODI series which is quite different to Test cricket where you’re just waiting for the wrong ball. But quite happy with how we’ve gone about things and the batsmen have been quite proactive about wanting to make a few changes, just Burl, Ray, No and Ryan have had their work cut out for them.” at 15 today we have Raza, which is pretty nice to have him back in the team.”
Pitch is expected to help tailors soon
The pitch report suggested that the new surface could help the fast bowlers in the opening hour due to the dampness, grass and overcast conditions.
The largest border measures 75 meters, while the shortest straight border is 68 meters. The surface has healthy grass and is expected to offer extra bounce, seam movement and some grip at the start of the innings.
Cracks in front of the stumps could also cause the ball to behave unpredictably if the bowlers hit the right spots. Batsmen are expected to face the toughest challenges in the first 10 overs before conditions improve for strike production later in the day.
